Relay privacy notice

Relay is made by Ontiqo Pty Ltd. Updated 5 October 2026.

What Relay accesses

Relay reads loaded conversation text, selected text, conversation titles, source page URLs and citation links locally in your browser so you can continue a conversation in another web assistant. It examines page layout and colours to show the floating bar. Supported chat pages are processed locally to detect a conversation; other HTTPS pages are accessed only when you invoke Relay. Relay does not read cookies, passwords, account credentials, hidden reasoning, attachments or unloaded conversation history.

What is saved

Preferences, favourite assistants, custom assistant URLs and composer selectors are stored in extension local storage on this device. Moving the bar saves the website origin and position as a placement preference, not a browsing-history log. Preferences are not synced. Up to 200 website positions are retained. You can reset an individual website or all positions in settings.

Temporary handoff text, title, destination and delivery state are saved in extension session memory for up to 30 minutes. They are removed when dismissed or cleared, when the destination tab closes, or when the browser restarts or the extension is reloaded. At most eight recovery copies are saved; the oldest already-sent copies make room for new handoffs while unfinished transfers are retained. A background worker restart alone does not clear session memory.

When context leaves your browser

Choosing an assistant opens its website and inserts context into its message editor. Automatic sending is on by default. Turn off “Send context automatically” for drafts only, or enable “Review before carrying” to edit before insertion. A provider may observe drafts before you press Send. Transcript text is never put in a navigation URL.

The destination you choose receives the context: ChatGPT (OpenAI), Gemini (Google), Claude (Anthropic), Copilot (Microsoft), Perplexity, Grok (xAI), DeepSeek, or the operator of a custom assistant you add. Its own terms and privacy policy govern its copy. Transferred text can contain personal or sensitive information. Select or edit context to exclude information you do not want to share. Clearing Relay’s recovery copy does not erase text already inserted or sent to a provider.

Permissions and control

Access to named Google and assistant sites is used for the bar, capture, insertion, submission and recovery. Active-tab access enables capture when you invoke Relay on another HTTPS page. Custom assistants require a separate grant for their specific origin. The right-click action transfers only the selection you chose. You can disable automatic sending, reset placements, clear saved handoffs, revoke site access, or uninstall Relay to remove local preferences.

Limited use

Ontiqo Pty Ltd does not receive chat context through Relay. The extension has no Relay server, analytics, telemetry, advertising, remote executable code, API keys or provider API integration. Relay uses user data only to provide conversation transfer and related placement features. It does not sell data, use it for advertising or credit decisions, or make it available for humans at Ontiqo to read. Relay’s use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Support and changes

Contact support@ontiqo.com with questions about Relay or this notice. If you contact support, Ontiqo receives the information you voluntarily send; avoid including private transcripts or credentials. This notice will be updated when Relay’s data practices change.

Relay is independent of the assistant providers. Their names and marks identify destinations and remain their owners’ property.
